Hidden amidst the verdant landscape of the South Hams, the Kingston Estate is a meeting and conference venue with a distinct difference.
Affording exceptional privacy, an aura of tranquility and an atmosphere steeped in the elegance and nostalgia of the eighteenth century, Kingston remains a private home yet one that welcomes guests allowing them to experience timeless, classical English country house hospitality.
Function rooms with a difference
The main function room is located within the charming self-contained Garden Suite and offers a modern, highly efficient environment with up to date technical equipment including a sound system, translation service, data projection and a dedicated catering facility. Smaller gatherings, events or board meetings can choose from three rooms within Kingston House, each with a very individual and unique character. The light-filled Chapel on the first floor retains some of the original wall painting that would have been executed in around 1735, the Marble Hall is lofty, airy and resplendent with a black Ashburton marble floor and the Undercroft, below the entrance level of the house is evocative of a crypt with thick walls and charged with atmosphere.
The Kingston Estate can accommodate up to 42 guests with a choice of three period suites within Kingston House or in the converted surrounding Grade II listed cottages.
Planners and organisers can tailor their own choice of venue depending upon the size of the group and individual requirements with the assurance of dedicated attention to detail, exemplary standards of service and a range of dining options that satisfy the most discerning palate.

The rates include room hire and layout to clients specification, screen, projection, broadband access, sound system with hearing loop, flip chart, stationery, welcome refreshments, morning coffee and biscuits, buffet lunch. The Day rate includes afternoon tea and optional dinner at £30 per delegate and the 24 hour rate includes afternoon tea, three course dinner, full English breakfast and accommodation.
Private Entertaining
Kingston House has an immediate magical ambiance that lends itself to and has inspired many a private function, whether it be a large family anniversary dinner, a celebratory luncheon, wedding reception or Christmas party. The venues mirror those for meetings and conferences but are arranged for dining and decorated according to the clients personal wishes. Our Roux trained head chef commands an extensive and expert repertoire and composes menus that match individual requirements using locally sourced produce and according to the season, vegetables, fruits and herbs from the historical gardens. Pre-dinner drinks with canapes can be served in the elegant drawing room or gardens, weather permitting and a comprehensive wine list is available spanning the principle wine growing regions of the world.
