Jackdaws
Jackdaws cottage is the centre most cottage of the Long Barn which was constructed Circa 1830 for the Rendell family, and the upstairs of which was the venue for the grass auctions in the years before World War II.
Mr Pengelly, then owner of Kingston and a wily businessman, allegedly served whiskey to encourage the bidders.
Walking through the cottage garden, which becomes a riot of colour in the spring and summer, you enter via a stable door surrounded by roses.
The entrance lobby leads into the delightful open plan sitting/dining room which features a carved bar that borders the spacious well equipped kitchen.
The charming master bedroom has a lovely large sash window, a four poster bed hung with a pretty chintz, and a separate wash closet.
The second bedroom is twin-bedded and there is a bathroom with large white basin and bath and shower over.
